Nakanoshima is situated in southern Sapporo on the northern island of Hakkaidô. After a long day’s work, a farmer pulls his horse into a river to let it drink on the way home. Tall poplar trees, for which Sapporo is known, soar in the darkness. Behind them the red-orange moon hangs deep and reflects on the water. With strong woodgrain in the sky.
